Sudakov Resummation for Electroproduction of Heavy Quarks

The leading and next-to-leading threshold logarithms of the QCD corrections to electroproduction of heavy quarks in single-particle inclusive kinematics are resummed to all orders in perturbation theory. The resummed cross-section is used to derive the NLO and NNLO results near threshold and their numerical impact on the charm structure function is studied. Talk at the ‘6th International Worksh...

Ising exponents from the functional renormalisation group

We study the 3d Ising universality class using the functional renormalisation group. With the help of background fields and a derivative expansion up to fourth order we compute the leading index, the subleading symmetric and anti-symmetric corrections to scaling, the anomalous dimension, the scaling solution, and the eigenperturbations at criticality. We also study the cross-correlations of sca...

The retarded energy shift and pair polarizabilities of interacting atoms in an external field

The interaction energy of two atoms in the presence of an external electrostatic field is evaluated up to sixth order with the help of covariant fieldtheoretical perturbation theory. The divergent Feynman diagrams entering the calculation are resummed according to a systematic procedure that has been developed in a previous paper. The pair polarizability and first hyperpolarizability that give ...

Different choices exist for the renormalisation group resummation in the determination of αs from hadronic τ decays: namely fixed-order (FOPT) and contour-improved perturbation theory (CIPT). The two approaches lead to systematic differences in the resulting αs. On the basis of a model for higher-order terms in the perturbative series, which incorporates well-known structure from renormalons, i...
